ISO 12083 MEETINGS

GCA will host ISO 12083 meetings on Saturday, December 4, from 10:00 am till 5:00 pm and Sunday, December 5, from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm. The purpose of these meetings is to revise the standard. A draft version of the revised standard will be posted in advance for general review.

GCA MEMBERS ONLY RECEPTION

Each year GCA provides a special reception for its members that is not open to other conference delegates. This year GCA introduces the special Web standards working groups that are hosted by the GCA Research Institute. On Wednesday, December 8, meet the GCA members who are shaping the future of the Web by developing standards in GCA's unique partnership of users and vendors working together to facilitate business for all. XML'99

Monday, December 6-Thursday, December 9, 1999

The GCA XML'99 conference will discuss the creation, management and delivery of structured information on the Web, intranet, or extranet. Sessions are designed for Web professionals and those involved in transitioning mission-critical processes to the Web. This is a separate conference from MT'99, which will be held in the same venue for the convenience of attendees who wish to attend both. Click here for more details.

EXPOSITION RECEPTIONS

Monday, December 6, and Tuesday, December 7, GCA and the Exhibitors will host two show floor receptions both held directly on the exposition floor from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm. Please join us for some good food, drinks and mingling.

 

NOCTURNES & IMPROMPTUS

Evenings at MT'99 from 8:00-9:00 pm will be reserved for non-peer reviewed and impromptu talks, discussions, and meetings. The conference has reserved both large and small meeting rooms for Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Up to half of the rooms can be reserved before the conference on a first-come-first-serve basis, for "Nocturnes." The other half of the evening rooms will be available at the conference for "Impromptus." Impromptus may be discussions of hot topics, extended question and answer sessions if a presentation generates more interest than can be accommodated during the day, or any topic of interest to conference attendees. to sign up for a Nocturne, send email to Jane Harnad at jharnad@gca.org. OASIS ANNUAL GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING AND RECEPTION

OASIS will host it's members-only Annual General Membership meeting on Thursday, December 9, from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm. The meeting will be immediately followed by a special members-only reception.

OASIS COMMITTEE MEETINGS

OASIS will continue its tradition of hosting its Technical and Marketing Committee meetings the day after the conference on Friday, December 10, from 9:00 am till 3:00 pm. Meeting agendas will be available at http://www.oasis-open.org
