FRIDAY • DECEMBER 8, 2000

11:00 am

A panel of well-known industry analysts will assess XML's progress in various markets and its prognosis for the future. They'll note some of XML's failures and highlight its successes, and offer their predictions for the years to come. Among the topics expected to be discussed will be:

  • What users should be doing to prepare their company's technical infrastructure for XML applications.
  • What are the best practices in implementation.
  • The roles XML will play in e-commerce; the influence of RosettaNet and BizTalk on the industry.
  • The struggle for control of industry vocabularies. Which standards and vocabularies will dominate? To what extent do we need industry cooperation to move XML applications forward?

Of course, the panel will take questions from the audience, debunk conventional wisdom, spell out XML acronyms, demystify vendor gobbledygook and be prepared to debate all controversies of the day. Come join us for what promises to be a lively panel!
