Speakers:
Mark Walter, Senior Editor, Seybold Publications
A 20-year veteran
of the commercial publishing industry, Mark Walter specializes
in helping publishers analyze editorial management and
electronic publishing technologies. As editor of the The
Seybold Report on Internet Publishing de directs Seybold's
editorial coverage of Web publishing, and he has spearheaded
the company's reporting on SGML- and XML-related technologies.
Prior to joining Seybold in 1987 he held technology analyst,
editorial, and production positions at McGraw-Hill, Temple
Univeristy Press, and the Philadelphia service bureau
Editing, Design & Production. As a consultant, Mark
specializes in helping publishers select technology to
automate editorial and production processes for Web and
cross-media publishing. Technical areas of expertise include
content and asset management, SGML/XML, and cross-media
publishing systems. Clients include both commercial and
corporate publishers, such as the American Medical Association,
Matthew Bender, Merck & Co., the U.S. General Accounting
Office, Bell Northern Research, and R.R. Donnelley, among
others. Mark also serves on the editorial team of XML.com,
a Web resource for XML professionals.

Maziarka, Director, CAP Ventures, Inc.
Michael Maziarka
is the Director of the Dynamic Content Software Strategies
service at CAP Ventures, providing research and consulting
services on document and content management software technology.
Prior to joining CAPV, Michael held corporate and product
marketing positions at Xyvision and Datalogics. During
his tenure at CAPV, Xyvision, and Datalogics, Mr. Maziarka
was active in industry initiatives. Michael held the Chair
position on the Board of Directors for OASIS (formerly
SGML Open); was active in the development of the CALS
electronic publishing standards; and participated in J2008
on the ANSI committee work. Michael holds an MBA from
DePaul University and a B.S. degree in computer engineering
from Iowa State University.
