Clicks & Bricks: Integrating the Internet with the Physical World
Speaker to be announced, HealthCentral.com
The successful business of the future is one that can successfully integrate the convenience and efficiency of an e-business with the personal service that is only available in the physical world. Online pharmacies provide just one opportunity for integrating online and offline services in the world of health care. For example, consumers may appreciate the convenience and cost-effectiveness of an online pharmacy, but they may not appreciate having to wait 24 hours for their prescription to arrive in their hands. If the online pharmacy were linked with a network of local pharmacies, patients or physicians could order prescriptions online, taking advantage of the convenience and possible cost savings available there, but the patient could also receive same-day delivery from their local pharmacy. By leveraging the advantages of both the traditional storefront and e-commerce, e-health organizations can provide consumers with the best of both worlds. This presentation gives attendees insight into the future direction of e-commerce as it relates to health care and how they might integrate their online presence with offline services and conveniences to deliver superior service and maintain competitive advantage.
