Information
Content and Exchange
The ICE standard reduces the cost of doing business
online and increases the value of B2B relationships.
ICE facilitates the controlled exchange and
management of electronic assets between networked
partners and affiliates. Applications based
on ICE allow companies to easily construct syndicated
publishing networks, Web superstores and online
reseller channels by establishing Web site-to-Web
site information networks. This tutorial provides
an overview of ICE and how it is currently being
used to facilitate automatic exchanging, updating,
supplying and controlling of assets in a controlled
fashion without manual packaging or knowledge
of remote Web site structures. ICE makes it
possible to create new classes of commercial
Web applications across industries such as financial
services, publishing, high technology and travel.
As with most successful standards initiatives,
ICE is based not only on the contributions of
technology companies, but also on a unique combination
of sources and destinations for online assets.
Customer
Profile Exchange
CPExchange offers a vendor-neutral, open standard
for facilitating the privacy-enabled interchange
of customer information across disparate enterprise
applications and systems. The CPExchange standard
integrates online and offline customer data
in an XML-based data model for use within various
enterprise applications both on and off the
Web. This tutorial examines the CPExchange and
shows participants how to facilitate the exchange
of customer information among disparate enterprise
systems. Additionally, how online integration
is possible for customer interaction data and
marketing events resulting in a networked, customer-focused
environment that allows e-businesses to leverage
a unified view of their customers into more
compelling e-relationships.
