Europe 2000
12-16
June 2000
Palais Des Congrès De Paris
Paris, France
We
are very pleased to be returning to Paris for our
year 2000 event. This time we will be in the Palais
des Congrès, a world class facility at Porte
Maillot, near the Arc de Triomphe. We were last
in Paris in 1998 and decided we just had to come
back to the city of lights especially to
celebrate the millennium.
XML
Europe '99 was host to over 900 participants in
Granada, Spain and we expect continued growth in
2000. The conference will take place over four days,
preceded by a day of tutorials. There will be four
tracks with full conference plenaries scattered
throughout the week. Last year, we promoted a few
panel discussion sessions. These proved very popular
and we will be including more of these in 2000.
The
conference will provide multiple tracks offering user
and technical expert topics, such as Core and Application
Technologies and the Standards Update presented by
ISO, W3C, and OASIS representatives. We will have
sessions on management topics, e-business, graphics,
and Internet/Intranet related issues as well.
In
addition to the conference itself, GCA's XML Europe
serves as a lightning rod for a series of other
industry activities that are co-located with the
conference. OASIS will hold their 2-day European
Workshop in Paris the week before the conference.
As always, the GCA will host the ISO SGML committee
meetings for ISO/IEC JTC1 SC34 in conjunction with
the conference. The International SGML Users' Group
will have its Annual General Meeting during the
conference, and we anticipate that many product
vendors will take this opportunity to host their
User Group meetings.
We're
planning a challenging, exciting, and no doubt exhausting
week next June. We look forward to seeing you there.
