XPS Portal Software to Leverage SharePoint
Citrix and SiteScape Form Alliance to Give XPS Portal Customers
Enhanced Collaboration Capabilities
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.- July 25, 2001 - Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS),
a global leader in application serving and portal software and services, today
announced an alliance with SiteScape, Inc., a leading provider of Web-based collaboration
software and services. The agreement benefits Citrix customers by giving them
the ability to integrate SiteScape Enterprise Forum 6.0 collaboration software
or WebWorkZone hosted service as an optional, plug-in component of Citrix®
XPS, the company's XML-pure portal software. In addition to the product
integration, SiteScape has joined the Citrix Business Alliance (CBA) Internet
Solutions Program, expanding joint marketing and sales opportunities for both
companies.
"Citrix
customers are turning to Citrix XPS to help them enhance business processes and
communication with users across departments, business units, and value chains,"
said Barry Davis, vice president, Business Development, for Citrix. "By partnering
with SiteScape we're adding value to XPS, offering our customers a powerful and
customizable collaboration platform that can dramatically improve intra- and cross-enterprise
communication and work processes."
Citrix XPS portal software gives users a single, personalized and secure point
of command and control over the applications, information and business processes
they depend on to do their jobs and interact with peers within and beyond the
enterprise, whether they are customers, suppliers or partners. SiteScape Forum
6.0, which allows users to host online discussions; share documents; chat; create
and participate in workflows; schedule meetings using shared calendars; and send
quick messages, is a powerful extension of XPS capabilities. SiteScape functionality
will be accessed through an XPS Content Delivery Agent (CDA), an individual, easy-to-use
Web-based application that snaps directly into the users' homepage. "We've
seen that the combination of collaboration and workflow capabilities within the
portal is becoming increasingly important for the enterprise," said Richard
M. Tahan, Jr., SiteScape's vice president of worldwide channel marketing. "SiteScape's
collaboration software allows XPS customers to make faster, better decisions by
allowing them to discuss and get input on the various information sources that
XPS aggregates. In addition, Forum captures the decision-making process in perpetuity,
forming a knowledge base of tacit information." Tahan continued, "We're
excited about our partnership with Citrix and share their enthusiasm for making
our alliance a success." About
