In e-business applications, the project manager is used to being confronted with the problems of modelling his business and structuring the data exchanged within his application. This paper focuses on the ability to use XML in three ways to solve his problems: to exchange structured data, to specify the business components in a standard way, and to preserve the investments made in the architecture.
