This presentation provides an update on progress and status of work of the XML TC, formerly the SGML Special Interest Group, within HL7including:

• Recent passage of a committee-level ballot of the PRA (including the PRA Header and Level One body DTDs); reconciliation of comments and submission of a second committee-level ballot.
• Derivation of the PRA from the HL7 RIM.
• Sending PRA documents in HL7 messages.
• The HIMSS 2000 demonstration, which involves interconnected messaging and document applications.
