ebXML Business Overview
Eighteen months ago, the United Nations CEFACT and OASIS began an
initiative to facilitate electronic business over the Internet using XML.
Hundreds of organizations from around the world came together in an open
process to collaborate on the development. This presentation provides a
historical overview of the ebXML project, celebrates the accomplishments of the
past year and a half and offers insight into the future of the
initiative.

Laura Walker
Laura Walker - Laura Walker serves as the executive director of OASIS,
where she directs the Consortium's day-to-day operations from its Boston headquarters. Walker has
been involved with the electronic and internet publishing industries for over 15 years, including
assignments with Honeywell, American Management Association, GTE, Intergraph, Xerox, Chrystal
Software and Proxima, where she led the development of an eCommerce-based accessories business unit.
From 1995-1997, Walker served as Chief Marketing Officer of OASIS. In 1998, she was named "Mobile
Maven" in recognition of her contributions to mobile computing.
