Posts New XML Resources on the Web
GCA's
Web site is undergoing a major update. As part
of that update, new directories providing resources
on XML and SGML have been developed. GCA hopes
to be one of the places that you go to learn more
about these important technologies.
To
access GCA's new XML information, simply click
on "What is XML?" from the
GCA home page. This page provides a brief overview
of XML. From this page you can navigate to a series
of XML topics:
- W3C
Standards: this page provides an overview
of key W3C standards such as XSL, CSS, DOM,
XLink, and XPointer. It also has links to the
latest version of each standard.
- XML
Vocabularies: this page provides an overview
of leading XML vocabularies. It also has links
to each vocabulary.
- XML
Books: this page provides a listing of XML
books, sold by GCA, with links to book reviews.
GCA hopes that these book reviews will help
each of you select the titles that fit your
needs.
- XML
Glossary: GCA has developed a glossary of
XML terms. The glossary is designed to serve
as a resource for those learning about XML
- XML
Conferences: This page provides an overview
of all the GCA conferences focusing in XML.
If an official conference Web site is available,
a link will be provided.
In
addition, the What is XML? page provides links
to other sites providing information about XML.
Links to the OASIS library (GCA is an OASIS member)
and to Robin Cover's XML/SGML Page (GCA is a co-sponsor
of this page) are provided. Finally this page
links to XML News Flash. On the News Flash page,
you will find links to recent XML news items on
the Web.
In
addition to the What
is XML? page, GCA also provides a What
is SGML? page on the new Web site. This page
focuses on SGML and SGML resources both on the
GCA site and from around the Web. Next time you
need an XML resource, remember www.gca.org!
