Folio Products now Property of Next Page

The Folio product line was recently acquired by NextPage Corporation from Open Market. The company is privately held in Utah. The principal financial backer is Alan Ashton, who was the founder of Word Perfect. The new president is Brad Pelo, a former president of Folio. Look for NextPage at the XML '99 Conference in Philadelphia!

MicroStar Acquired by Open Text

In an effort to strengthen its market position Open Text announced the acquisition of Microstar, an XML solutions provider. Microstar is recognized for its innovative standards-based solutions based on SGML and XML. Microstar's technology expertise includes the development of XML and SGML tools such as Near & Far Designer and the Ælfred XML parser. According to Tom Jenkins of Open Text, the purchase of Microstar Software will add to his company's capability to our support e-business customers in their adoption of Livelink technology.
