FL December 10, 2001 -- At the XML 2001 conference, eidon GmbH,
Document Management Solutions, Inc. (DMSi), and Software AG announced
today the release of directWeb Portal Plus, a combination of software
products from eidon and Software AG.
While
XML content management solutions have promised customers the ability
to custom publish information based on the specific interests of
the requestor, in reality the results have been less than satisfactory.
directWebPortal Plus provides a cost effective solution to the problem
of delivering dynamically assembled XML data from any content management
system via the world wide web.
An
integration between the components of the eidonXportal family and
Software AG’s Tamino, a native XML database, was established to
access relevant information and custom publish the results to user
queries quickly based on eidonXbase content management. This is
now the directWeb Portal Plus module. To further the benefits of
personalization and profiling of large amounts of technical, reference,
educational and other information, DMSi used the directWeb Portal
Plus and the External Repository Interface along with their integration
expertise to access information stored on any CMS. This allows organizations
that have invested large sums of money to implement other content
management systems to efficiently deliver custom content to their
customers.
